Marietta M. Pranger, 79, of Fort Madison, IA, passed away at 12:40 a.m. on Monday, December 25, 2017 at the West Point Care Center. She was born on February 18, 1938 in rural Fort Madison, IA to George & Marie Kirchner Schneider. She married Arthur J. Pranger on September 6, 1959 in West Point, IA. He preceded her in death on December 7, 2009. She worked at the Sheaffer Pen Company, Shellor Globe and the American Paper Company, but she spent most of her life as a homemaker. She was a member of Ss. Mary & Joseph Church and enjoyed gardening, working in her yard, cooking, crocheting and making stuffed animals.

Marietta is survived by: 2-brothers: Bob (Marilyn) Schneider of Fort Madison, IA & Jim (Suki) Schneider of Burlington, IA and several nieces. She was preceded in death by: her parents, husband, 1-brother & 1-sister.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 with a funeral mass to immediately follow at 10:30 a.m., all at Ss. Mary & Joseph Church with Rev. Joseph Phung officiating. Burial will be held at Soldiers’ Circle in Oakland Cemetery. A memorial has been established for Holy Family Parish.
