FORT MADISON - The 2nd annual Veterans assembly at Fort Madison High School was held December 21, on the morning before the students and staff were released for winter break. Veterans from all branches were honored at the ceremony with the Fort Madison High School Band performing theme music from each branch of the armed services. Veterans in attendance were asked to stand and be recognized when their branches music was played.

The high school also heard from 2017 FMHS graduate Chase Rogers.

Below, Nick Colberts, who served three years with the Marines, talks to a couple of Fort Madison veterans after the ceremony. At bottom, Fred Otte, left and Colberts, stand guard of the colors at the event.
