Hound boys return from break with win

WASHINGTON - The Fort Madison Bloodhounds got 15 second half points from senior Lorenzo Riles in a 76-49 win over host Washington to highlight boys Southeast Conference basketball action Tuesday night.

Riles finished with 18 on the night to lead Fort Madison. Treavor James-Kokjohn had 15 and Brandon Keester added 10 to round out the scorers in double figures for the Hounds.

Fort Madison held a slim 9-6 advantage with two minutes left in the first quarter, then both teams got hot offensively. The Hounds outscored Washington 10-3 in the next minute of play before Washington battled back for a 14-19 first quarter deficit.

The Hounds extended the lead to 10 before the end of the first half with James-Kokjohn leading the way with six points in the 2nd quarter.

Junior Logan Rashid heated up in the third quarter with seven points to help Fort Madison push the lead to 38-58. The Hounds then got 10 in the fourth from Riles to put the game out of reach.

The Hounds improve to 6-3 on the season and travel to Fairfield for the second of a four-game road swing on Friday night.
