LEE COUNTY - An early morning accident at the intersection of highways 61 and 16 sent one person to the Fort Madison Community Hospital. Emergency crews were called to the scene of the accident at about 7:10 a.m. where a pick-up truck and a GMC Acadia had collided. The Acadia came to rest in an embankment on the west side of Hwy. 16 just short of the intersection. Lee County Ambulance, Wever Fire & Rescue, Denmark Fire & Rescue and the Lee County Sheriff's department assisted at the scene.
