Alexander named permanent CEO at FMCH

FORT MADISON - The Fort Madison Community Hospital Board of Directors has named Jeremy Alexander as the permanent President/CEO of FMCH effective February 1st, 2018. Alexander took on the role of Interim President/CEO after the resignation of Pat Bira in August of 2017.

Alexander has been an FMCH employee for almost ten years. Prior to becoming the Interim President/CEO he held the position of Vice-President of Finance. Alexander received both his Bachelor of Business degree in Finance and his Masters of Business Administration in Finance and Marketing from Western Illinois University, where he currently chairs the Finance Advisory Board.

“We feel very confident Jeremy will continue to lead the organization in a positive direction. He is committed to the future of Fort Madison Community Hospital and making sure quality health care remains available in our community,” said Ann Menke, President, FMCH Board of Directors. “He brings a fresh perspective to this leadership role.”

During the past six months under his leadership, Fort Madison Community Hospital has successfully recruited multiple health care providers. Dr. David, Dr. Gorski, Dr. and Alisa Kindig, WHNP all have started at FMCH. Five additional primary care physicians have been recruited and will be joining the medical staff after completing their residencies this summer. FMCH has also moved forward with exploring a strategic partnership with Great River Health Systems to create a foundation upon which patients in Southeast Iowa can receive comprehensive, coordinated care long into the future.As one of only six independent hospitals in Iowa, FMCH remains a financially viable and successful organization employing a team of over 480 employees. Alexander is also overseeing the conversion of the physician clinics’ electronic health record system to Meditech, currently used for hospital services, with completion slated for June of this year. This will allow for more seamless communication throughout the organization and increase patient safety.

David Pike will remain in the position of Interim Vice-President of Finance.
