Boeding goes for 22 as HTC falls Friday to Highland

WAPELLO - Junior Taylor Boeding fired in 22, including four 3-pointers, but Holy Trinity couldn't hold off a late Highland rally and fell 62-57 in the Southeast Iowa Superconference Shoot-out Friday at Wapello.

The Crusaders held a one-point 45-44 lead going into the fourth quarter after outscoring Highland-Riverside 36-27 in the 2nd and 3rd periods.

Highland jumped out to a 17-9 first quarter advantage but the Crusaders battled back over the next two periods. Highland was able to put 18 in the fourth to HTC's 12 to get the win.

Brett Schneider and Avery Hopper each had eight points, while Emily Box chipped in with seven. Sam Hoenig and Madison Mohrfeld each added six points for Holy Trinity.

The Crusaders finish the regular season at 9-12 and open regional action Thursday night with Burlington Notre Dame at Shottenkirk Gymnasium in Fort Madison in Class 1A, Region 5. The winner will face the winner of the Winfield-Mt. Union/New London match up on Tuesday at Winfield. Both games start at 7 p.m. and no passes are accepted.
