Cresswell ties school mark in rout at Davis County

BLOOMFIELD - Fort Madison senior Kaleb Cresswell hit eight 3-pointers to tie an FMHS record as the Hounds dropped Davis County 79-43 in boys high school basketball action Wednesday night.

Cresswell and fellow senior Treavor James-Kokjohn combined for 50 as the Hounds moved to 12-7 on the season. The two are fourth and second, respectively, in the Southeast Conference in scoring and combined for all of FMHS' first quarter points with Cresswell hitting on two 3-balls enroute to 10 points to put the Hounds up 17-5 in the first period.

Cresswell led all scorers with 28 on the night and is averaging just over 14 points per outing, while James-Kokjohn had 22 and is averaging 15.7 per contest.

The Hounds pushed the lead to 45-15 in the second period and were quickly putting the game out of reach. Cresswell again led FMHS with nine points, all 3-pointers. Sheymouhr Redd-Donald had five in the period.

Fort Madison pushed the lead to 65-26 headed into a quick fourth quarter with the continuous clock running. Again Creswell hit on three 3-pointers to lead Fort Madison with nine points and James-Kokjohn had seven.

Davis County was led by Riley Heller with 12 points.

Rounding out the scoring for Fort Madison was Lorenzo Riles with eight points, Jayden Fedler had six points, Redd-Donald finished with five, while Jace Burgher had three, Logan Rashid, Parker Denning and Michael Mosena each had two points. Roman Maestro added a free throw for Fort Madison.

The Hounds take their 12-7 record into the final regular season game of the season Friday night in a girls/boys varsity double header for Senior Night at the Hound-Dome. Seeding meetings for sectionals took place this morning, but that information is embargoed until Friday.
