Soroptimists' Princess Tea Party plans set

FORT MADISON - The Princess Tea Party, hosted by Soroptimist International of Fort Madison, will be held on Saturday, April 7th, at the Comfort Inn & Suites in Fort Madison. This yearly fundraiser provides a day of fun, crafting, take-home goodies, and princesses for children 3 years and older. Your princess will have the opportunity to meet Belle and Sleeping Beauty, along with other princesses. Prince Charming may also make an appearance!

Princesses 3-5 years of age will be hosted from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and princesses aged 6 years and older will be hosted from 1:00 to 3:00pm. Registration forms can be found on the Soroptimist International of Fort Madison's Facebook page, by calling 319-372-7898, or by emailing laurisorop@gmail.com. Registrations must be received by March 2, 2018 and seating is limited. Each child must be accompanied by an adult. Cost is $40 per Princess and one adult. Each additional child or adult is $20. Your princess can also get their photo taken with a princess for an additional $5.

Soroptimist is a global women’s organization whose members volunteer to improve the lives of disadvantaged women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment. Approximately 74,000 Soroptimists in over 120 countries and territories support community–based and global projects benefiting women and girls. The organization is particularly concerned with providing disadvantaged women and girls access to education, as this is the most effective path to self-determination.

The name, Soroptimist, means "best for women," and that's what the organization strives to achieve. Soroptimists are women at their best, working to help other women to be their best.
