Edna Mae Huneke, 93, of Montrose, IA, passed away at 7:35 p.m. on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at the Montrose Health Center. She was born on January 31, 1925 in Sigourney, IA to Carrie Mae Bales. She married Ervin C. Huneke on September 5, 1947 in Burlington, IA. He preceded her in death on August 22, 2004. She was a secretary at the Public Aid Office in Burlington and also for her husband’s business, Ervin Coe Huneke Architect & Engineer. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Montrose and Fairfield. She enjoyed bird watching, gardening, reading, watching sports, hiking & camping. She was a member of the Montrose Garden Club, King’s Daughters and was involved for several years in Girl Scouts.

Edna is survived by: 2-sons: Steven (Nancy) Huneke of Scotts, MI & Michael (Danielle) Huneke of Jupiter, FL; 2-daughters: Margaret (Jack) Butler of Monticello, MO & Polly Mullins of Keokuk, IA; 11-grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her parents, husband, 1-son in law, 1-granddaughter, 2-step brothers & 1-step sister.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 5, 2018 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Nancy Love officiating. Burial will be held at Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery. A memorial has been established for the Montrose Presbyterian Church.
