Task force busts Keokuk drug house

KEOKUK - The Lee County Narcotics Task Force reports the arrest of a Keokuk, Iowa man on a misdemeanor drug charge.

MEIEROTTO

Gregory Alan Meierotto, 50, of 906 Palean Street, Keokuk, Iowa was arrested on March 1st, 2018 at his residence on a misdemeanor drug charge. Meierotto is charged with maintaining a drug house, an aggravated misdemeanor. If convicted, Meierotto faces up to 2 years in a state correctional facility.

The arrest of Meierotto stems from an investigation by the Lee County Narcotics Task Force into allegations that he was involved in the use and/or distribution of illegal narcotics in the Lee County area. A search warrant was served in connection to this investigation and items that support the charge were discovered.

The Lee County Attorney’s Office, Keokuk Police Department, Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement, and the 8th Judicial District of Probation and Parole assisted the Lee County Narcotics Task Force in this investigation.

The defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
