FORT MADISON – Fort Madison Community Hospital will be hosting their annual Women’s Health Conference on Saturday, March 17th starting at 9:00 a.m. This year’s conference is titled “Good Health, Good Luck, Good Laughter” focusing on overall wellness. The conference will take place in the Conference rooms of the Business Center, lower level east addition at Fort Madison Community Hospital.
This year’s conference will present area women an opportunity to practice prevention with health screenings that include blood pressure checks, body mass index and blood sugar. Screenings will be available from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. The screenings will take place in the Outpatient Rehabilitation Services Center. These free screenings will be followed by a light breakfast and a dynamic dose of live entertainment presented by Sally Shaver DuBois.
Sally will discuss the importance of living an active, healthy lifestyle in a fun and creative presentation that will cover wellness principles and how exercise, music and laughter can all have a positive effect on the brain and body. Women will smile, laugh and learn from Sally’s presentation on keeping our minds sharp and our sense of humor active.
Sally has two master’s degrees in education with over 25 years of experience as a wellness professional and educator. She has been a speaker since 2004 and is a member of the National Speakers Association and is a certified laughter leader through the World Laughter Tour. She is also an experienced entertainer, professionally-trained musician, and has spent time doing on-air announcing at local radio stations. Sally resides in Ames, Iowa, and is married to Paul DuBois.
