BURLINGTON - The Fort Madison girls soccer team held 2-0 Burlington to it's lowest points all year, but fell 4-0 in the Bloodhounds first match of the season.
Head Coach Sebastian Seifert said Thursday night's game was the first time in the teams five-year history that they held Burlington to less than nine goals.
"That was a pretty big accomplishment for us," he said,.
Josie Pumphrey was voted the Bloodhounds player of the game.
"She had several incredible saves," Seifert said.
Taylor Shannan had two shots on goal, but Siefert said the team had a hard time moving the ball up the field.
"We had a handful of long balls that didn't find the right target , but went too close to the goalie," he said.
The Bloodhounds take on Mt. Pleasant on the road on Monday.
