COLUMBUS JUNCTION - The Holy Trinity Catholic girls soccer team got four goals from Elle Rashid en route to a 4-2 win over Columbus Junction on the road.

Rashid was assisted on the goals by Maya Rashid, and Elyse and Claire Pothitakis.

On Monday, the girls shutout Keokuk 6-0. Clair Pothitakis opened the scoring with a shot off a pass from Maya Rashid. Rashid then converted a penalty kick after a hand penalty in the box, her second successful penalty kick of the season.

Madison Mohrfeld got in on the scoring when she took another assist from Rashid with four minutes to go in the half. The Crusaders had 25 shots in the first half with 15 on goal.

The second half opened up in much the same way with an onslaught of shots from Rashid, Claire and Elyse Pothitakis, Elle Rashid, Katie Scoville, and Taylor Boeding. Boeding scored on a tap in from Maya Rashid's diagonal pass, then Rashid scored on an assist from Scoville.

Head Coach Michael Sheerin said he got solid play from the Crusader defense including Ashlynn Haas and Maille Sheerin who kept breaking up attacks from Keokuk. Sam Pothitakis recorded her third shutout of the year.

The junior varsity girls team won 2-0 behind two goals from Taylor Crabtree.

The girls are now 4-1 and will play again Thursday, April 26th at the Burlington Rec Plex in the Adidas Tournament of Champions at 4:00 PM vs. Moline High School.
