Fort Madison Police report
04/23/18 - 6:56 p.m. - Fort Madison police responded to a report of a burglary in the 100 block of 2nd Street.
04/24/18 - 4:42 p.m. - Fort Madison police responded to a report of a larceny/theft in the 2200 block of Avenue D.
04/24/18 - 5:08 p.m. - Fort Madison police responded to a report of a shoplifter in the 4800 block of Avenue O.
04/24/18 - 6:10 p.m. - Fort Madison police responded to a report of a larceny theft in the 2000 block of Avenue B.
04/24/18 - 6:25 p.m. - Fort Madison police responded to a report of a larceny/theft in the 1500 block of Avenue B.
04/24/18 - 9:50 p.m. - Fort Madison police arrested Michael Leland Link, 47, of Gladstone, Ill., in the 1200 block of 26th Street. He was taken to the Lee County Jail and held.
Lee County Sheriff's report
04/23/18 - 1:34 p.m. - Lee County Sheriff's deputies arrested Christian Jay Jones, 46, of Galesburg, Ill., at the Henry Hill Correctional Center in Galesburg on nine warrants including ongoing criminal conduct, possession of methamphetamine less than 5 grams, four warrants for failure to appear and three warrants for violation of probation. He was held in custody.
04/24/18 - 1:48 p.m. - Lee County Sheriff's deputies responded to a one-vehicle accident at the intersection of 243rd Avenue and 353rd Street. A vehicle driven by Clinton LeRoy McGee, 77, of Keokuk, was headed southbound on 243rd and failed to stop at a stop sign. Unit 1 then entered the south ditch sustaining minor to moderate damage. McGee was taken to Unity Point Hospital in Keokuk with minor injuries. He was cited for failure to obey stop sign.
It should be noted those listed above are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.
