“I’m so excited to join this staff and this community,” Morrison shares. “I can’t imagine a better place to bring what I’ve learned and to continue to serve seniors. Experiencing the loving feeling in this community and seeing the commitment to caring for and respecting each resident during my interview period and now in my first weeks here just confirms why I chose to dedicate my career to serving seniors.”

Martin Hug, COO of Agemark, sees growth in the future for The Kensington, Benda and Morrison. “As our population ages and more individuals are exploring their options, the opportunity to meet their needs in a truly family-like, warm and loving environment also grows. We’re very happy to welcome Leia to our team,” explains Hug. “Her experience and knowledge are extremely important, of course, but it’s her passion for helping seniors find enjoyment and feel at home every day that makes her a perfect fit.”

“For more than a decade, Rachel has done an exceptional job leading our community and staff as they create that loving environment for our residents. In fact, under her leadership, The Kensington in Fort Madison was honored as one of only four senior communities in the entire U.S. by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL) just last month, for its achievements through the Quality Initiative Recognition Program. We’re thrilled that Rachel can now share her expertise with all of the Agemark communities in her region.”

As the new Director at The Kensington in Fort Madison, Morrison brings rich experience and a strong professional background. Prior to taking the new position, she served as Executive Director at Hancock County Senior Services Association based in Carthage, Illinois. She has also served as a Divisional Director for one of the largest providers of short- and long-term health care services for seniors in the U.S.

Morrison holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Management from Hannibal-LaGrange University in Hannibal, Missouri and is completing her Masters of Business Administration with a healthcare focus at Ashford University. She is a Certified National Dementia Provider and holds additional certifications in Alzheimer’s/Dementia, geriatrics, nursing and chemical dependency counseling. She is an active member of several state, regional and national organizations that focus on senior services professionals and in public policy advocacy for services for the senior population.
