Jackie Allen of Ft. Madison passed away May 3, 2018 at the West Point Care Center after a mercifully short struggle with cancer.

She was born in 1945 in Burlington to Paul Jr. & Joan Chapel Lear, and from age two, she was raised by her grandparents, Paul Sr. & Grace (Mom ) Hissong Lear.

In 1967, she married Floyd McKenzie, and that union produced three sons; Mark, Ryan, & Pete. In 1995, she married Terry Allen. He survives.

She graduated in 1964 from New London High School. Jackie worked at Dial Corp. (Henkle-Pinnacle) and retired after 29 years of service.

Other than her family, her biggest enjoyment was watching the Cardinals, Cowboys, & Hawkeye football. She was very proud of the fact that two of her grandsons were attending the University of Iowa, and that one played in the Hawkeye Marching Band.

Besides her husband, Terry, survivors include two sons, Ryan (Shannon) McKenzie, & Pete McKenzie, both of Ft. Madison; one step-daughter, Dawn (Andy) Hawes of Burlington; one step-son, Matt (Candi) Allen; one brother, Micheal (Pat) Lear of the U.K.; three grandsons, Aury, Tyler, & Brody; one step-grandson, Dylan; three step –granddaughters, Elicia, Misty, & Brandi; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other relatives.

Preceding her in death were her parents, grandparents, one son, Mark, and one step-daughter, Lea Bowen, and one brother, Robert.

Friends may call after 2 PM on Monday, May 7, 2018 at King-Lynk Funeral Home and Crematory where the family will meet with friends from 4-7 PM. Following visitation her body will be cremated.
