Silgan employees clean up on west end

Employees with Silgan Containers in Ft. Madison pose for a group photo after completing their biannual cleanup of both sides of the intersection of Highway 2 along US 61 on April 28th as part the Iowa DOT’s Adopt-A-Highway program, improving the environment and helping to keep Iowa and the local community clean and attractive to both local residents and visitors. Silgan Containers is the largest provider of metal food packaging in the United States. The Ft. Madison plant has been in the community since 1975 and was purchased by Silgan in 1988.
