FORT MADISON - The United Way of the Great River Region wants to remind you of their annual 18-hole outing on Friday, May 11, 2018 at Sheaffer Memorial Golf Course in Fort Madison.
“We still have room for Team Sponsorships and Hole Sponsorships,” says Karen Thie, Executive Director. “This is going to be a great event! The weather has finally turned and after a long winter it will be great to get outside and enjoy some golf. We have some wonderful Silent Auction baskets available. We are encouraging everyone to come out to Sheaffer Golf Course on Friday, May 11 between 11:00 am and 5:30 pm to put in a bid. Team Sponsorship are $360.00. This includes 4-person team, hole/flag sign, carts, lunch, and drinks. Hole Sponsorship are $100.00. This sponsorship includes hole/flag sign and a chance to be present at the course to promote your business. Beverage Cart Sponsorship and Food Sponsorship also available.
Net proceeds will go directly to help fund 26 local nonprofit organizations that show a measurable impact in the areas of health, education, and financial stability. These organizations include Advocacy Network for Children, Alcohol Drug & Dependency Services, Child Abuse Prevention Council, Clark County Council on Aging, Common Grounds, Community Action of Southeast Iowan, Community Services Inc. – Food Pantry, Denmark Ball Association, Emma Cornelius Hospitality House, Food for Thoughts, Fort Madison Kiwanis, Fort Madison Public Library, Fort Madison Community School Child Health Fund, Fort Madison Family YMCA, Girls Scouts, Hancock Co. Health and Wellness Coalition, Hoerner YMCA, Hope Haven Area Development Center, Iowa Legal Aid, Keokuk Christian Preschool, Memorial Hospital, Mental Health Centers of Western Illinois, Boy Scouts, Test Kitchen Education Foundation, Unity Point Keokuk Home Health Caren, and University of Illinois Extension – Hancock County.
United Way also supports key initiatives such as the Literacy Program, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program Lee County RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program).
