Virgil L. Nuebel, 71, of Fort Madison, IA, passed away on Friday, May 4, 2018 at his home. He was born on October 17, 1946 in Fort Madison, IA to Joseph B. & Gladys Davis Nuebel. He married Connie J. Petty on June 12, 1975 in Burlington, IA. He worked at Fruehauf for 32 years and later at Gregory Manufacturing for 5 years. He served in the U.S. Army and enjoyed building bird houses, train sets and was a jack of all trades.

Virgil is survived by: his wife: Connie Nuebel of Fort Madison, IA; 2-god daughters: Amanda Jordan & Misty Grelk of Burlington, IA; 3-brothers: Joseph H. Nuebel of Burlington, IA, David D. (Nancy) Nuebel of Burlington, IA & John R. (Sharon) Nuebel of Nauvoo, IL. He was preceded in death by: his parents, his twin sister: Virginia, 2-sisters: Cynthia & Barbara, 3-brothers: Bernard, James & William & 3-infant siblings.

Cremation has been entrusted to King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will be held at a later date at Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery. A memorial has been established in Virgil’s memory.
