FORT MADISON – On Tuesday, May 8th Rocky the Recycler paid a visit to Central Lee Elementary School. Rocky gave presentations to approximately 170 students from pre-school to kindergarten.

The students learned about the Three Rs – Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle and participated in an exercise where the students identified which materials belonged in the recycle bin or in the trash bin.  It was a great experience for the students and for the teachers. They all came away with a lot of knowledge on how they can implement the Three Rs in their daily lives and help keep our community clean and healthy.

Great River Regional Waste Authority welcomes the opportunity to visit any class or group interested in learning more on recycling! Interested parties may call our Fort Madison facility at 319-372-6140.
