FORT MADISON - A late-match offensive push by the Bloodhounds wasn't enough to avoid a shutout as Danville beat Fort Madison Monday night 2-0 at the Baxter Sports Complex.

The Hounds were down 1-0 with about 10 minutes left in the second half, but Danville was able to get the ball past goalie Javier Trejo behind Fort Madison's defense at about the 9 minute mark to stretch the lead to 2-0.

The Hounds tried to get the ball downfield to Brody Rung and Rueben Eid in the waning minutes of the game, but Danville was able to clear the ball on several occasions as time expired.

Eid and AJ Nolting each had two shots on goal for the Hounds. Nolting had six of the Hounds 16 shots on the night. Trejo had two saves on the night.

The Hounds fall to 3-11 on the season and 2-6 in the Southeast Conference with the loss and travel to Mediapolis on Tuesday.
