NAUVOO - Sts. Peter and Paul School in Nauvoo, IL is hosting their 19th Annual God’s Portion Day auction on Sunday, June 3, 2018, the school’s largest fundraiser. The auction is an excellent opportunity for our region to see what Sts. Peter and Paul is all about.

The day begins with breakfast, served from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and the live auction begins promptly at 10:30 a.m. Dan & Jim Sullivan, from Sullivan Auctioneers, will be leading the auction. There are many fun events scheduled throughout the day including a bucket auction and a hat auction, in which 10 buckets and 16 hats will be sold, and two of the hats and one bucket will reveal the big winners. The bucket winner will receive a brand new John Deere mower, provided by Martin Sullivan, Carthage and the two hat winners will receive either a brand new iPad, donated by Schmitz-Banks & Beals Funeral Home or a television, donated by John A. Kraus family. Other items to be auctioned include: concert tickets, dinner parties, dollhouse, coolers, patio set, tailgate set, picnic table, summer fun basket, Legos, children’s toys, Nerf basket, grill, seed beans, event tickets, rock, many gift certificates and many more can’t miss items. Many of the items have been generously donated through local businesses and families. Food and drinks will be available for purchase all day long. Additional activities include Kid Zone, classroom presentations of homemade projects, quilt raffle and tuition raffle. Check out the God’s Portion Day 2018 Facebook event page for more photos of donated items.

Tuition raffle tickets are available at Sts. Peter & Paul School or from any SPPS student. Tickets are $1/each. Each ticket sold is an opportunity for a SPPS student to win one of this year’s prizes: ½ year free tuition (2), free book fees, free lunch for the year, or $50 towards uniform shirt purchase. Winners will be drawn at the auction. Need not be present to win.

Quilt raffle tickets are currently available at the State Bank of Nauvoo, at Sts. Peter & Paul School, or from any SPPS student. Tickets are $5/each and only 200 tickets will be sold. The quilt was donated by the Piecemaker Quilt Club. The quilt is displayed at the State Bank of Nauvoo. Winner will be drawn at the auction. Need not be present to win.

The students are currently hosting a “Penny War”, which is a competition between classrooms. Pennies count positively and any silver coins or dollars count negatively towards each classroom’s weekly total. Other student fundraisers include $1 casual days each month, selling tuition raffle tickets and classroom projects for the auction.

Please come to join us for a day filled with fun, food, faith and family. In 2017, the God’s Portion Day Committee raised over $100,000. The goal for 2018 is to go beyond last year’s accomplishment. The God’s Portion Day committee consists of several couples that are parents of Sts. Peter and Paul School students.

Donations are still being accepted; please contact Sts. Peter and Paul School at (217) 453-2511. All activities will be held at Sts. Peter & Paul School Gymnasium, located at 1115 Young Street, Nauvoo Illinois.
