Rung's goal lifts Hounds over HTC

FORT MADISON - Brody Rung scored on assists from Austin Sexton and Gavin Ransdell with about four minutes left in the game to lift the Fort Madison Bloodhounds over Holy Trinity 2-1 on Friday night,.

Holy Trinity opened the scoring with a goal at the 12-minute mark of the opening period, but the Hounds countered on an unassisted goal by AJ Nolting right at the halfway point of the first period.

Rung had nine shots, five on goal to lead the Hounds. Nolting had seven shots, six in the box. Carson Donaldson had 11 saves on just one goal for FMHS.

The Hounds 4-12 (2-6 in the Southeast Conference) head to Clear Creek Amana on Monday to face Clear Creek in the first round of district play.
