FORT MADISON - According to the Fort Madison Community School District website, current Burlington Notre Dame Athletic Director Jeremy Swink has been offered the position of Activities Director for the Fort Madison Community School District.

The Fort Madison School district board of directors will vote on his hiring as part of the district's regular school board meeting Monday night.

Swink would replace outgoing Activities Director Andy Mitchell who accepted a position last month with Atlantic Community School District as Assistant Principal/Activities Director beginning July 1. He has been with FMCSD for the past five years.

According to the website, a recommendation from Superintendent Erin Slater is being considered on Monday.

"Jeremy comes to the Fort Madison Community School District with three years previous experience as an athletic director," Slater wrote to the board of directors. "There were over twenty candidates that applied on Teach Iowa. These candidates were reviewed by Principal Greg Smith and myself. The top five candidates were invited to interview with a panel of eleven individuals. The roles that were represented on the panel included: administration, community members, youth sports, high school, and middle school sports parents, activities/clubs, middle school and high school coaching, sports boosters and a student athlete."
