FORT MADISON - Senior Taylor Shannan put up four more goals on Friday as the Bloodhounds fell to Holy Trinity Catholic 5-4 at the Baxter Sports Complex.
Dezire Kline had two assists in the game with two others coming from Nakia Ross and Anna Kester.
The Hounds trailed 2-1 at halftime and were down by as much as four goals before getting back on track and closing the gap.
Josie Pumphrey had 12 saves in the game and head coach Sebastian Seifert said it was one of her best games of the season.
"She had several amazing saves," Seifert said. "HTC played a very good game and we were a little bit too sloppy in defense a couple of times."
Hounds lost 4:5, 1:2 at halftime
Districts start for both teams this week and the Hound will play at Burlington Thursday night. Holy Trinity visits Keokuk on Tuesday and then travels to Mid-Prairie Wellman on Thursday in the first round of district play
