HTC junior high girls get six top 5 spots at meet

FORT MADISON - Holy Trinity Catholic's Raquel Schneider captured second place in the 800-meter run at the Southeast Iowa Superconference junior high track meet on May 8th and the Crusaders garnered six top five finishes. In the 200-meter dash, Anna Sobczak took 6th with a time of 29.75. Kayla Box earned 4th place in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 19.75. She was also part of the 800-meter sprint medley team of Sobczak, Rachel Menke, and Mary Hellige, that took 6th place with a 2:23.20 mark. Brooke Mueller took fifth in the shot-put with a throw of 22'-8.75" and she was part of the sixth place 4x200 relay team of Tessa Gendron, Mueller, Hellige, and Ell Dostalek that crossed the line at 2:21.49. The 1600 distance medley relay team of Menke, Mueller, Hellige and Box took 5th place with a time of 5:25.85. Schneider took 4th in the 400-meter dash at 1:07.71, and put up a 2:39.86 in the 800-meter run, which just over a half second faster than her time at the Mike Henderson Junior High State meet on May 5.. Her 400-meter time at the state meet was 1:05.50 and she took 6th place with that mark. Both of the state marks were personal records for Schneider.
