Susan M. Beimer Nelson, 67, of Fort Madison, IA, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at the home of her daughter after battling pancreatic cancer.

Susan was born on July 16, 1950 in Ft. Madison to Richard and Doris Malin Beimer. On October 9, 1970 she married Joseph Patton and they later divorced. She then married Robert Nelson on June 30, 2001 and they later divorced. Sue worked at Promised Jobs and also did accounting at the YMCA. Sue was a member of Joy Baptist Church. She loved to cook and bake for

friends and family. To help keep her mind sharp, she enjoyed watching Jeopardy and doing crossword puzzles. Her greatest delight was being with her children and grandchildren and attending services with her cherished church family. Sue strove to be content with what she had as it brought her greater pleasure to give to others. Her favorite Bible passages is Proverbs 30:8,9.

Survivors include two sons, Joshua Patton of Ft. Madison and Jeremy Patton of Texas; one daughter, Amanda (Ben) Cadwallader of ft. Madison; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Kathy (Tom) Heffernan of Williamsburg, VA and Debi Beimer of Ft. Madison; two brothers, Michael (Julie) Beimer of Mt. Vernon, IA and Brian Beimer of Magnolia, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Melissa Auwaerter, two nephews and one niece.

The Memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Joy Baptist Church with Rev. Earl Beal officiating. The family will meet with friends from 10 AM until the time of the service. Per her wishes, cremation has been entrusted to King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory.
