William “Bill” I. Duncan, 73, of Niota, IL, passed away on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at his home.

He was born on August 28, 1944 in Washington, IA to Thomas and Helen Jones Duncan. He married Jan Carter and they later divorced. On July 4, 2005 he married the love of his life Kathryn Susan Hinman in Carthage, IL and she passed away on March 21, 2016. Bill was the Manager of Two of A Kind and was known as “Burt” to some.

DUNCAN

He enjoyed going to the gym and walking. Bill also enjoyed playing pool and spending time with his friends. He served in the US Army during Vietnam War.

Survivors include two sons, Thomas Duncan and Ryan Duncan of Burlington; two step daughters, Melissa (Shane) Derr and June (Tony) Brecount of Ft. Madison; one step son, James “JC” (Ashley) Counts of Ft. Madison; six step grandchildren and two step great grandchildren; a brother, Larry Duncan of West Burlington and a sister, Susan (Steve) Duncan Freymark of Swedesburg, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Kathy.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, June 8, 2018 at 10 AM at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. Mark Anderson officiating. The family will meet with friends from 9 AM until the time of the service at 10 AM. Burial will follow in Harris Cemetery, rural Dallas City, IL with Military Rites performed by the Dallas City American Legion Post #297.
