New trash carts to arrive next week

FORT MADISON - Residents in the City of Fort Madison will receive their new solid waste carts during the week of June 11th. All carts are delivered to the front of each home to ensure that the address and cart is registered into a data base for the City. Residents are to put their solid waste cart away and place it at their regular location on their designated day for collection. Information on the new program and on current recycling programs will be included with the cart.

Collection:

Residents can start using their cart as soon as they get them, but the City’s official start date for collecting solid waste in the cart is July 2nd. All solid waste must be bagged and placed in the City’s issued cart for collection and paced out at the curb by 6:00 am the day of collection.

Extra Waste Stickers:

The City is no longer offering stickers for extra waste. Residents who have stickers can use them up to July 20th. If you would like a refund for any stickers you do not intend to you use, you may do so at City Hall starting July 2nd. – July 20th.
