Rotary Picnic and City Band this Sunday

FORT MADISON - This Sunday the Fort Madison Rotarians will hold their annual picnic in Central Park.

The event is an annual fundraiser that helps support the City Band Summer Concert Series as well as park maintenance costs.

Grilled meats, side items and beverages will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. by Rotarians with a $5 suggested free will donation. Root Beer floats will also be for sale by the FM PAW animal shelter.

Some seating is available, but lawn chairs are recommended. There will also be a raffle underway. Tickets will be available for $10 or 6 for $50 and prizes include: first prize - four tickets to a St. Louis Cardinal's game, subject to availability including a one night hotel stay, $50 Casey's gift card and $150 gift card to spend; 2nd prize - a tour of Fort Madison Restaurants including gift cards to various restaurants; 3rd prize - A wine basket (2 to be raffled).

You do not need to be present to win raffle prizes.

The City Band will be doing their performance beginning at 7:30 p.m. with works such as: Clear Track Polka, Old Tent Meeting, Lassus Trombone, Begin the Beguine, And in the end it was Earth, The Washington Post March, Rainy Days and Mondays, Centennial March, and Men of Ohio by Henry Fillmore.

Miles Morgan will be singing with the City Band this week performing As Time Goes By arranged by Warren Barker, Star Dust also arranged by Warren Barker. Mary Patten will be also singing with City Band performing Embraceable You by George and Ira Gershwin, and I Dreamed a Dream from Les Miserables.
