KEOKUK - Keokuk police have identified a deceased person found on July 4th at approximately 1:17 p.m. in the water at 1400 Mississippi Drive in Keokuk, as Jake Anthony Mason, age 34, of Keokuk.
Keokuk Police responded to the area near the Southside Boat Club for a report of a deceased person in the water. Keokuk Police and Fire removed the decedent from the water.
An autopsy is scheduled for today at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics Decedent Care Center, where identification will be confirmed.
This matter is currently under investigation but,there is no suspected concern to the public.
The Keokuk Police Department was assisted by the Keokuk Fire Department and Lee County EMS.
