FORT MADISON - Fort Madison Community Hospital recognized Teri Welborn as their June Employee of the Month. Welborn works in the Accounting Department at FMCH and she has been with FMCH for thirty years.

She was recognized with this nomination:

"Welborn lives the Standards of Behavior at FMCH excelling at Privacy, Personal Accountability and Commitment to Co-Workers. I would like to nominate one of my employees because she exemplifies what all employees should strive to be in their workplace. She has been at FMCH for 30 years and is a fountain of knowledge. Everyone from all FMCH areas, reach out to her for help. She may not perform that work, but she will stop everything to assist you. She has been an essential part of the Meditech conversion and in our daily operations. I honestly do not know what I would do without her. She is a pillar in our department!"

Welborn recognized Brad Kokjohn, former FMCH CFO, as someone who made a difference in her career at FMCH.

“Brad is the one who thought I would be a great fit in the accounting department," Welborn said. "I have lots of people who are so great to work with at FMCH. Jeremy Alexander was such a great boss in Accounting and now is a great CEO, Cheryl Albin is a wonderful boss as well. I have to mention my co-workers Kriisti Gobble, Joni Kenel, Heather Hellweg, Justin Bentler and all my co-workers in every department of the hospital."

Welborn stays very busy, not only with her family, but in the community. She teaches piano lessons at the Fort Madison Area Arts Association, is the organist and choir director at the Fort Madison United Methodist Church, plays piano for the Fort Madison High School choir concerts and other miscellaneous events, and every year accompanies the FMCH Christmas Carolers on their journey around the hospital spreading Christmas cheer.

The Employee of the Month is an initiative developed by the Reward & Recognition team. Each month a FMCH employee is honored for going above and beyond for the good of the patient, their co-workers and the organization.
