FORT MADISON - The Family Practice Clinic at Fort Madison Community Hospital is pleased to welcome Dr. Amy Huber and Dr. Josh Sirucek

HUBER

“I spent my third year of medical school doing my rotations at FMCH, and was impressed with the way people held themselves to high standards. I enjoy being a part of a strong healthcare team,” explained Dr. Huber.

Dr. Huber’s affinity for science fueled her interest in health care, “science was always one of my favorite subjects in school, particularly biology. Turning that interest into my profession just seemed like natural progression. I initially started my health career as a radiologic technologist. I was always wondering about the science behind a patient’s disease process, and how their doctor was going to help them get better.”

Doctors of Family Practice treat the whole person. They partner with their patients, developing a long-term relationship, to provide comprehensive health care to patients of all ages-from newborns to seniors. Family physicians deliver a range of acute, chronic, and preventive medical care services while providing patients with a patient-centered medical home.

“The most rewarding aspect about being in health care is having the ability to take what I have learned, and use it to help people understand their symptoms or medical problems. I am lucky enough to have attained an education that can be used to help make other people's days a little brighter,” commented Dr. Huber.

Dr. Huber likes to stay active, whether through physical fitness, attending events or exploring the history of the area.

Dr. Huber will join the medical team of Dr. Kathy Anderson; Dr. William Napier; Dr. Chase Newton; Dr. David Wenger-Keller; Dr. Ruth Barosy (August 2018); Dr. Josh Sirucek (August 2018); Amy Wallis, FNP; Gwen Scott, FNP and Sara Gudenkauf, FNP in the Main Clinic at FMCH.

Dr. Josh Sirucek

Dr. Sirucek is a Board Certified Family Practitioner. He recently finished a Fellowship in Sports Medicine at JPS Sports Medicine in Arlington, Texas after completing his residency at Texas A&M. He received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree from Midwestern University in Arizona.

SIRUCEK

Dr. Sirucek credits a personal positive health care experience for his decision to become a doctor, “I decided to go into health care after I had an emergency surgery that saved my life at the age of 16. I have been intrigued and fascinated with learning how to better myself in order to pay this gift forward. I love people and get along well with them.”

Dr. Sirucek will use his expertise to see patients of all ages providing primary care. He also specializes in the care of musculoskeletal and sports injuries. Dr. Sirucek will deliver non-narcotic treatment for back pain using US guided and fluoroscopy guided procedures. In addition, he is specially trained in migraine management and treatment using pharmaceuticals and Botox injections. Dr. Sirucek focuses on helping his patients achieve long-term good health.

“My patients are the most rewarding part of being in health care. Caring for them and watching their health improve and knowing that I got to play a small role in this is very fulfilling.”

Growing up in a small town in Idaho, Dr. Sirucek explains why he chose to practice in Fort Madison, “I am excited for the opportunity to be part of FMCH. It reminds me of home. I grew up in small town in Idaho and wanted to practice in a similar environment. In addition, the fact FMCH is very proactive in health care and genuinely cares for the community made it an easy place to want to work and raise my family.”
