Keokuk police looking for Wednesday robbery suspect

KEOKUK - Keokuk police are looking for help in finding a suspect of a Monday burglary in Greenbrier Court.

According to a release from Keokuk Chief of Police Dave Hinton, Wednesday evening at8:19 p.m. officers with the Keokuk Police Department and, a trooper with the Iowa State Patrol, responded to a reported burglary at Greenbrier Court in Keokuk.

Upon arrival, officers located the victim who had been physically assaulted, after the suspect forced their way into the victim’s residence. The suspect had a hand gun and demanded jewelry from the victim. The suspect then left the residence with an undisclosed amount of jewelry.

The suspect is described as a white male, thin, with a beard that has grey in it.

This incident is under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the Keokuk Police Department at 319-524-2741.
