Steve Busard, 66 years, of West Point, Iowa passed away unexpectedly Saturday, August 18, 2018 at the Fort Madison Community Hospital, Fort Madison, Iowa. He was born December 4, 1951 in Fort Madison, a son of John Francis and Dorcas (Haney) Busard. On October 16, 1971, he married Jane Wooldridge. She survives.

Steve was a 1970 graduate of Fort Madison High School. He owned and operated Steve’s Cycle Shop and later Import Restorations for more than 30 years. He loved motorcycles, collecting and selling cars, and drag racing. He had a need for speed but also loved being outdoors landscaping his home. He built and sold homes. He was a jack of all trades. Steve enjoyed traveling to Bozeman, Montana for fly fishing.

He is survived by his wife Jane Busard, of West Point; three daughters: Jennifer Busard of Burlington, Iowa; Stacey Alvarez of Fort Madison; and Kara (Damon) Dalton of Kahoka, Missouri; two brothers, Rodney (Kelly) Busard of Donnellson, Iowa and Jim Busard of Washington; three sisters: Barbara (Raymond) Judy of Texas; Melody Huffman of Burlington; and Chris (Randy) Crowner of Burlington; four grandchildren, one great grandson on the way; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

His family will greet friends from 5:00 - 6:30 pm Friday, August 24, 2018 at the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison. A memorial service will follow and begin at 6:30 pm Friday at the funeral home, with Pastor Dean Graber officiating.
