FM Chamber invites kids Saturday for Riverview Games

FORT MADISON – The Fort Madison Area Chamber of Commerce will host the 6th Annual Riverview Games on Saturday, August 25th. The free, family-friendly event has become an end of summer ritual for many in the greater Fort Madison area. Children ages 2 through 6th grade have the opportunity to participate in age appropriate games that are fun and a tiny bit challenging.

The 2018 event will include a number of different vehicles, from ambulance to big trucks and a fly in by Air-Evac, for everyone to check out and learn about. A special “little kid” area will offer a bouncy house and age-appropriate activities for preschool children, 2-5 years of age, giving the younger crowd something fun to do as well.

School age kids will compete for podium placements with gold, silver & bronze medals being presented to the top contenders in each competitive event. Participants will crawl through tubes, weave around poles and bounce their way through a 36’ long inflatable course before making their way to the finish line. New minute-to-win-it games, a football toss, and relay race are also scheduled as part of the morning events. Release forms will be available day of the event for children wanting to participate in the games and/or enjoy the bounce house. Those attending are asked to visit the registration tent to sign in.

Families are able to enjoy some free, safe, family fun immediately after school starts. After watching the kids compete in the games, sit back and enjoy the cool breezes off the Mississippi River while enjoying a free lunch provided by Hy-Vee.

The Games will be held from 10 a.m. – noon on Saturday, August 25, 2018 in Riverview Park, Fort Madison, Iowa. Fort Madison Family YMCA will hold a random drawing where one fortunate child who will receive a children’s membership to the YMCA. Additionally, participants will have their names in drawings for other prizes.
