FORT MADISON - Eric Freitag, owner of the Turbo Wash Car Wash outlets and the Dog Wash station in Fort Madison has made a $1,200 contribution to the Lee County K9 Association.

Freitag donated funds generated from the Dog Wash station from Aug. 13-19 and then matched the funds on his own for the total. Several users of the Dog Wash station located at the corner of Avenue L and 37th Street, also made contributions, as did a food truck that had been on the lot for a good part of the week. Town and Country Food truck owners Rick and Kathy Ecles, also donated a portion of their sales for the day, bringing the grand total donation to more than $1,500.

The Lee County K9 Association was formed to support the K9 efforts of Lee County and currently provides funding for the Lee County Sheriff's Department's two K9 officers Gunner and Kion.
