Fort Madison man arrested for gun threat

FORT MADISON - A Fort Madison man was arrested Thursday afternoon and charged with a domestic firearms assault charge.

Lee County Sheriff's deputies were sent to the 6000 block of Avenue O on Thursday afternoon, where a man had threatened a woman with a gun.

Witnesses said deputies were along the perimeter of the home with weapons drawn, but were able to resolve the matter peacefully.

Lee County Sheriff Stacy Weber said a woman was taken from the home with minor injuries and John Henry Wilson of Fort Madison, was taken into custody and charged with domestic abuse assault with a firearm.

No other injuries were reported as the scene.
