FORT MADISON - Fort Madison Community Hospital (FMCH) has been awarded a 2018 Top Workplaces honor by the Des Moines Register. This is the sixth time since the program began FMCH has made the list. The Top Workplaces lists are based solely on the results of employee feedback gathered through a third party survey administered by research partner, Energage, LLC (formerly Workplace Dynamics) a leading provider of technology-based employee engagement tools. The anonymous survey measures several aspects of workplace culture, including alignment, execution, and connection, just to name a few.

“Top Workplaces is more than just recognition,” said Doug Claffey, CEO of Energage. “Our research shows organizations that earn the award attract better talent, experience lower turnover, and are better equipped to deliver bottom-line results. Their leaders prioritize and carefully craft a healthy workplace culture that supports employee engagement.”

“We take great pride in the work we do at Fort Madison Community Hospital. Being named to the Top Workplaces list again this year is a reflection of the commitment our employees make every day to their patients, each other and to our community - to do their best and to be the best. Our employees create the FMCH culture of quality and compassion. We are also fortunate to have a dedicated Board of Directors and leadership team to help us navigate through the changing health care environment,” commented Jeremy Alexander, President/CEO, FMCH.

“Becoming a Top Workplace isn’t something organizations can buy,” Claffey said. “It’s an achievement organizations have worked for and a distinction that gives them a competitive advantage. It’s a big deal.”

Fort Madison Community Hospital employs 486 employees, which includes 24 physicians and 13 Advanced Practice Professionals.
