Robert “Rob” Paul Eugene Newbill, 32 of Hamilton, IL formerly of Keokuk, IA died Wednesday, October 3, 2018.

He was born December 12, 1985 in Keokuk, IA the son of Bernard and Helen E. “Betsy” Anderson Newbill.

Rob graduated from Keokuk High School Class of 2005. He then attended Southeastern Community College in Keokuk.

NEWBILL

He had been employed by V’s Restaurant and Brewpub in Keokuk for the past two years.

Rob loved skateboarding and rode his skateboard all over town. He enjoyed music and had been the vocalist in several local bands including Mendoza and D.O.A. Rob collected superhero comic books. He was a talented artist and recently had been creating graffiti designs and working with sidewalk chalk. More than anything, Rob loved spending time with his children, who were his pride and joy.

Rob’s life was filled with love and laughter, but deep down there was a shadow, an illness, that darkened his days. This shadow prevented him from seeing all the love and support from the ones who meant the most to him in this world. In one moment, he lost sight of the shore, and in desperation, ended any hope for a future. That one moment does not diminish all that he was. His legacy is the life, love, and unforgettable memories made with all those who were lucky to have loved and known him. Rob will never be forgotten and will always be loved.

He is survived by his mother Helen (Betsy) Newbill of Keokuk, his father, Bernard Newbill of Keokuk, two sisters, Brenda Scoles of Des Moines, IA and Darhonda Holmes of Jackson, TN, three brothers, Johnathan Newbill (Desiree Hopkins) of Keokuk, Jordon Newbill (Sarah) Des Moines, IA and Antonio Newbill of Sacramento, CA, two daughters, Abigail Lear of Learn, KS and Genevieve Droege of Keokuk, one son, Maddox Newbill of Quincy, IL, his girlfriend Brook Droege of Keokuk, one step-son, Roman Logsdon of Keokuk, aunts and uncles, Kris and Sam Payne of Keokuk and Kathie and Ken Noel of Fruitland, IA and several other aunts and uncles in Tennessee and Ohio and many cousins including Gabe and Nick Payne, Hilary Henke and Clarissa Noel, his best friend Chris Symmonds, nieces, Raeanne, Kylee and Ava and great nephew Jeremiah.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Bob and Helen Anderson, paternal grandparents, Rozell and Mattie Person and special friends, Kevin Kemper and Peyton Mitchell.
