Helen Elizabeth Tripp, 94, of Niota, IL, passed away at 11:25 p.m. on Friday, October 5, 2018 at her home. She was born on January 16, 1924 in rural Lee County, IA to Harry & Hilda Grimwood Westfall. She married Wilbur R. Tripp on June 21, 1941 in Edina, MO. He preceded her in death on June 4, 2016. She was a homemaker most of her life and enjoyed playing cards, crocheting blankets for her grandchildren, great grandchildren & great great grandchildren and making cakes in her younger years.

Helen is survived by: 1-daughter: Janet (Dan) Burford of Niota, IL; 4-sons: Roger (Shirley) Tripp of Niota, IL, Charles (Linda) Tripp of Nauvoo, IL, Larry (Ann) Tripp of Niota, IL & Duane (Cindy) Tripp of Niota, IL; 14-grandchildren; 27-great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; 2-sisters: Mary Peacock of Fort Madison, IA & Leona Huebner of Burlington, IA. She was preceded in death by: her parents, husband, 1-brother: Charles & 1-sister: Evelyn.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 8, 2018 with the funeral service to immediately follow at 11:00 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory in Fort Madison with Elder Evelyn Dustin officiating. Burial will be at Thornber Cemetery in Powellton, IL. A memorial has been established for Thornber Cemetery or Lee County Hospice.
