Mrs. Dorothy Mae Snyder, 91, of rural Burnside, IL died at 5:25 AM Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at her home.
She was born February 10, 1927 in Cuba, IL, the daughter of Chester Arthur and Adah Frances Haigh Bartlett. On March 15, 1943 she married Glenn LeRoy Snyder in Rushville, IL. He preceded her in death on October 19, 1991.

Dorothy attended school in Colchester, IL. She and her husband farmed near Burnside for many years. In 1981 they established Quality Machine Quilting and to date over 11,000 quilts have been stitched. She and her family traveled extensively in this country and in Holland, Brussels and France. She and her husband often portrayed Santa and Mrs. Clause at area nursing homes, schools and parades. She enjoyed cooking, baking pies and especially cherished times with her family.
She is survived by eleven children, Beverly Stephen) Brunk of Denmark, IA, Barbara (Edward) Burford of Warsaw, IL, Betty (Rene) Medina of West Point, IA, Becky (Larry) Flowers of West Burlington, IA, Chester (Joyce) Snyder of Colusa, IL, Billie Jo (David) Mosher of Fort Madison, IA, Bonnie (Gene) Willdrick of rural Dallas City, IL, Brenda Womack of Fort Madison, IA, Dale Snyder of rural Burnside, IL, Bea (Alan) Huls of Wataga, IL and Glenn (Terry) Snyder, Jr. of Buffalo, MN, 32 grandchildren, 68 great-grandchildren, 22 great-great-grandchildren and one sister, Patricia Faye Knapp of Visalia, CA.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, one brother, three sisters, two grandsons, Kevin Snyder and Aaron Huls, one great-granddaughter, Mikhaila Palmer and one great-grandson, Matthew Brookhiser.
Services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City with Rev. Nancy Love officiating. Burial will be in the Harris Cemetery, near Dallas City. friends may call after 3:00PM Friday at the funeral home where the family will meet with friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday.
