Orvetta A. Taylor, 91 years, of West Point, Iowa died Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at the West Point Care Center. She was born December 2, 1926, in Illinois, a daughter of Kilis and Avie (Rogers) Dudley. On January 16, 1954, she married George L. Taylor in Decator, Illinois. He preceded her in death on January 23, 1996.

She worked for many years at the West Point Care Center as a Nurses Aid and an assistant to the cook. She also worked part-time cleaning for Dr. Hull. She was a member of the Fort Madison United Methodist Church, Fort Madison, Iowa. She enjoyed oil painting.

Orvetta is survived by one daughter-in-law, Teresa Taylor; three granddaughters: Ashley Lynn, Mariah and Amber; two great grandchildren: Lynnae and Lincoln; and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Christopher P. Taylor; six brothers: Guy, Delbert, Maynard, Alvin, Bert and Wallace; and two sisters, Malie and Ruby.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 - 10:30 am Friday, October 19, 2018 at the Barr-Holtkamp Funeral Home, West Point. A funeral service will follow and begin at 10:30 am Friday at the funeral home, with Reverend Lanette Van officiating. Burial will be at the West Point City Cemetery.
