Vivian “Viv” Irene Bryant, age 83, passed away on Friday, October 19, 2018 at The Madison Health Center. A native of Elkins, WV, she was born to the late Clyde Barkley and Virginia Eva Carr Barkley on September 16, 1935. Vivian livedthroughout the United States including Newport News VA, San Diego and San Francisco CA, Midway Island and Pearl City HI before making Fort Madison, Iowa her home in 1967. She became co-owner and then owner of Bryant Moving andStorage as the local agent for North American Van Lines in Fort Madison for many years. She was active in the community and a member of the Moose Lodge #671 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Lonnie Sawyer and Garold L. Bryant, her son Mark R. Bryant, and her brother Leonard C Barkley. Vivian leaves to cherish her memory a sister Betty L Southard; four children, SoynaWilcock, Lonnie Sawyer, Garold L. Bryant, Jr., and Jeffery D. Bryant, her grandchildren Cindi Pastor, Cassie Cuellar, Dwen McLaughlin, Andrew Bryant, Jeff Bryant, Jr., and Samantha Bryant, many great-grandchildren andnumerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory and no services are planned. The family wishes to thank the staff of The Madison for their care during these last years of her life and to Viv’s lifelong friend, Jeannie Parker, for your all help and friendship.
