Task force busts FM woman on meth charge

FORT MADISON - The Lee County Narcotics Task Force reports the arrest of a Fort Madison, Iowa woman on a felony drug charge.

Tanya A. Jones, 55, of Fort Madison, Iowa was arrested on October 22nd, 2018 at her residence on a felony drug warrant. Jones is charged with delivery of more than five grams of methamphetamine, within 1000 Feet of a Park, class B felonies with an enhancement. If convicted, Jones faces up to 30 years in a state correctional facility.

The arrest of Jones stems from an investigation by the Lee County Narcotics Task Force into allegations that she was involved in the distribution of illegal drugs in the Lee County area.

The Lee County Attorney’s Office, Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement, and the Fort Madison Police Department assisted the Lee County Narcotics Task Force in this investigation.

The defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

The Lee County Narcotics Task Force is funded in part by the U.S. Department of Justice and the funds administered by the Iowa Governor’s Office of Drug Control Policy.
