Colleen “Collie” R. Morrissey, 62, of Cedar Rapids passed away after a short battle with lung cancer, Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018, at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha, IA.

She was born October 28, 1955, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of John and Carol (Laschanzky) Morrissey.

Survivors include one daughter, Brianne (Travis) Johnson of Oskaloosa, IA; four grandchildren, Tyler, Isaac, Caroline, and Gideon; two sisters, Regina Morrissey of Lakewood, CO and Peggy Schneider of Iowa City, one brother, Patrick Morrissey of Cedar Rapids, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Colleen graduated from Fort Madison Community High School. She married Dennis Stephenson in 1977, they later divorced. She was Part Owner & Secretary/Treasurer of Truck Repair Inc. in Fort Madison for many years.

She was a board member of Peer Action Disability Support (PADS) in Cedar Rapids and volunteered with many other organizations.

She loved reading, Willie Nelson and her dogs. Her generous spirit will be missed by many.
