CHARLESTON - The Three Rivers Conservation Foundation is hosting a Chicken Dinner Fundraiser on Sunday, November 4th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Charleston Board of Trade. The price of the dinner is $10 for adults and $6 for children under 12.

The mission of the Three Rivers Conservation Foundation is to support Lee County Conservation projects and environmental education programs. Events like the Chicken Dinner enable the Foundation to help advance conservation efforts within the county.

Individuals wanting to purchase tickets for the event should contact a foundation member or contact the Lee County Conservation Office. Walk-ins are also welcomed the night of the event.

During the event foundation members will launch a new fundraising initiative entitled “Places to Play.” The goal of this initiative is to raise funds for new playground equipment at the Pollmiller, Wilson Lake, Chatfield, and Heron Bend. The members hope to have the first playground project completed at Pollmiller by 2020.

The Foundation will also be serving cupcakes at the event to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of Lee County Conservation.

For more information on the event, contact the Lee County Conservation Office at 319-463-7673. The Charleston Board of Trade is located at 1962 253rd St in Charleston, which is south of Donnellson along HWY218.
