Iowa escapee nabbed in Nauvoo

Nauvoo Police Department Chief of Police Mike Boley, reports the arrest of Justin William Patten, 34, of Burlington, Iowa.

Patten was arrested on Tuesday October 30, 2018, for driving while license suspended, resisting arrest, a Des Moines County, Iowa warrant for escape and an Iowa Department of Corrections warrant for escape.

Patten’s arrest comes as the result of a traffic stop in the 1500 block of Knight Street in Nauvoo at 3:10 p.m. on Tuesday October 30, 2018. Patten fled the scene on foot and entered a wooded area nearby. A perimeter was set up by responding units until Patten exited the timber and again began to flee on foot. Patten was subsequently apprehended and placed in to custody after a foot pursuit.

Patten is being held in the Hancock County, Illinois Jail without bond, awaiting his initial court appearance.

Assisting the Nauvoo Police Department in the investigation were the Hamilton Police Department, Dallas City Police Department and the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office.

Patten is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
