Caesar J. Rashid, 93, of Fort Madison, IA, passed away at 3:20 a.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at the home of his daughter, Karen, in Overland Park, KS. He was born on June 17, 1925 in Fort Madison, IA to Richard & Mary Rashid. He married Sadie Lee Hamra on November 5, 1950 in Caruthersville, MO. She preceded him in death on September 7, 2015. He owned andoperated Mary & Son’s grocery store and Caesar’s Restaurant with his wife for many years. He was member of Sacred Heart Church the Fort Madison Eagle’s Club and enjoyed spending time with his family and watching sports. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII.

Caesar is survived by: 4-daughters: Karen (Phil) Shannon of Overland Park, KS,Becky (Mike) McWilliams of Kansas City, MO, Teresa (Bob) Berfanger of Wentzville, MO & Patty (Don) Harvey of Montrose, IA; 14-grandchildren & 17-great grandchildren(andtwoon the way)He was preceded in death by: his parents, his wife, Sadie, 2-brothers: Farris Rashid & David Rashid & 1-sister: Diana Haddad.

Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. on Friday, November 9, 2018 with the family to receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. Per his wishes, his body will be cremated following the visitation. A memorial mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Mark P. Spring officiating. Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for Lee County Hospice or Holy Family Parish or for a mass to be said in Caesar’s memory.
