HTC junior high girls sweep Danville in early hoops action

DANVILLE - The Holy Trinity girls junior high basketball squad swept Danville in two games Monday night and are now 4-0 on the year. In the 8th grade game, Mary Hellige put up seven points in the 22-10 win over Danville. Brooke Mueller and Kayla Box each scored four, while Alexa Dingman had three points and Lora Mehmert and Jenna DePrima had two. In the 7th grade game, Natalie Randolph scored in double figures for the first time with 10 points in a 32-13 win. Mary Kate Bendlage and Reagan Holvoet each scored nine points in the win. Breanna Peterson and Taegan Denning both added two points.
On Thursday the Crusaders swept Central Lee with Mueller pouring in 10 points in the 8th grade game. Dingman had six and Hellige put in four to lead HTC in a close 25-24 win. Box had three points and DePrima added two.
In the 7th grade affair HTC won handily 44-14 led by Bree Peterson's 18 points. Bendlage added 10. Holvoet, Denning, Jupiter Strickland and Randolph all scored four each in the win.
